Teatro. La última cátedra.

  LA ÚLTIMA CÁTEDRA. ACTO I — ESCENA PRIMERA. Escenario. Una biblioteca antigua y algo desordenada.  Las paredes están cubiertas de libros hasta el techo.  Hay montones de papeles, cuadernos, diccionarios y traducciones sobre una mesa grande de madera oscura. Al fondo, una ventana.  La lluvia golpea suavemente los cristales. Una lámpara amarillenta ilumina apenas la habitación.  El resto permanece en penumbra. Se escucha el tic-tac lento de un reloj. En escena no hay nadie durante unos segundos. Silencio. Después, se oye el ruido de una llave girando lentamente en una cerradura. Entra el PROFESOR ELÍAS. Tiene unos setenta años.  Viste chaqueta oscura y lleva varios libros bajo el brazo. Camina despacio.  Cansado. Deja los libros sobre la mesa. Permanece inmóvil unos instantes mirando la habitación.
